Point Mallard blows out Euless, 6-1

Point Mallard had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Euless.

Jake Cox had two goals and one assist to lead Point Mallard. Cox scored the first of his two goals at 13:03 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Point Mallard. Justin Clark picked up the assist. Cox\’s next tally made the score 4-1 Point Mallard with 4:46 left in the third period. Justin Dunn assisted on the tally.

Point Mallard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Point Mallard kept Euless\’ goalie busy throughout the game, and Thomas Bailey made 54 saves on 60 shots.

Point Mallard also got points from Josh Hamilton, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Clark, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Point Mallard included Ian Precht and Jake Champaign, who each put in one. More assists for Point Mallard came via Joe Bresingham, Zachary Bennett, Travis Brain, and Scott Jacobson, who contributed one each.

Euless did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 12 saves.

Euless was led by Benjamin Kraus, who scored the team\’s only goal. Kraus scored short handed 3:47 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Point Mallard. Euless played down a man on Aaron Wade\’s kneeing. Trent Wolter picked up the assist.

Josh Martin made 12 saves for Point Mallard on 13 shots. Point Mallard incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Euless incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
