The Ducks came into Planet Ice to take on the Louisiana Drillers and came away with two wins.
Saturday night the Ducks opened the scoring with Dlugach’s first goal of the season at 9:04 off an assist by Ian Precht. Knopf followed up with his first of the season at 15:43 off a feed from Nilsson and Jake Cox put one in less than a minute later at 16:36 from LaValley and Hamblett. Lousisiana pulled within one in the second until Matt Goodman put in his first of the season unassisted at 15:04.
The Ducks put it away in the third period with Jake Cox putting in his ninth of the season at 3:16 with Precht and Goodman getting the assists. La Valley scored his first goal of the season shorthanded at 12:17 from Cox and Precht. The only power play goal of the night for the Ducks was Chun’s first of the season scored at 16:56 from Gustafson and Polcaro. Bernadini saved 29 of 32 shots enroute to the Ducks 7-3 win over the Lousiana Drillers.
Sunday saw the defense tighten up on the Drillers and the Ducks came away with a 5-1 win. Glassman stopped 14 of the 15 shots. Meakins opened the scoring at 3:25 with his second of the year, a feed from Goodman. Revniaga fished out the first period scoring with a power play goal at 17:15 from LaPlante.
The Ducks put in two more in the second, with Gustafson’s first of the year at 2:28 from Wilks, and Nilsson putting in an unassisted short handed goal at 19:22. Nilsson put in 5th goal of the season at 14:39 on the Power Play to finish out the Ducks scoring for the night.
