Green's big night helped the Ducks crush the Jr. Thunderbolts 7-2

Jarett Green had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the Point Mallard Ducks crushed the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 7-2 in a home game at Swonder Ice Arena in Point Mallard. As well, the Point Mallard Ducks' offense had a big night, peppering Evansville with 50 shots throughout the game. The Point Mallard Ducks took the lead late in the first on a goal from Yuval Halpert and never looked back.

Matt Goodman chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Stephen Herbel had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.

In the first period, O’neal opened the scoring for the Ducks with a goal at 5:23 with helpers from his teammates Goodman and Herbel. Cody answered for Evansville with a goal at 8:32 with helpers from Ford and Rozema. Goodman answered for Point Mallard with a goal at 10:43 with an assist from his defensive partner, Herbel. Halpert put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:05 with an assist from defenseman Green. Goodman quickly followed with a goal at 19:17 with a helper from his teammate Trombly.

In the second period, Hoon answered for Evansville with a goal at 6:36 with a helper from defenseman Rowe. Green answered for the Ducks with a goal at 16:14 with assists from Kelly and Chun. Stepp deposited a goal at 18:31 with helpers from Green and Trombly.

In the third period, Weinland scored a goal at 14:13 with an assist from defenseman Green.

Point Mallard’s victory was in no doubt helped out by O’shaughnessy’s big night as he stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced. O’shaughnessy’s counterpart, Tucker, also had a big night, managing to stop 43 of 50, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Point Mallard Ducks’ record to (19-17-0-1).
