Henderson’s big game bests Point Mallard in 5-2 Wisconsin win

Wisconsin\’s Peter Henderson had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team\’s 5-2 win over Point Mallard.

Henderson scored at 17:26 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Wisconsin and again while 19:23 into the second to make the score 5-0 Wisconsin.

Wisconsin was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game Wisconsin had been spending in the box. Wisconsin forced Point Mallard\’s goaltenders to work between the pipes, racking up 36 shots and forcing 31 saves. Cooper Seedott made 20 stops and Josh Martin made 11.

Wisconsin also got points from Connor Boscaccy, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Joe Perrelle, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Ben Ratner, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Wisconsin were Jake McNamara and Russel Barone, who each chipped in one.

Point Mallard did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Point Mallard averages 4.3 goals per game.

Point Mallard was led by Matt Goodman, who had one goal and one assist. Goodman scored on the power play 5:26 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Wisconsin. Point Mallard had taken the advantage when Wisconsin\’s Perrelle got sent off for checking from behind. Josh Hamilton picked up the assist. Point Mallard also got a goal from Cody Thomas as well. More assists for Point Mallard came via Jake Cox and Jake Champaign, who contributed one each.

Max McConnell recorded 26 saves for Wisconsin. Wisconsin registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Point Mallard totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play.
