Ducks Fans, we are getting ready for the 2017-2018 season and want you guys to be the first to meet
our newest arrivals. We will be introducing a new player every week, and also profiling our returners.
We hope you enjoy getting to learn a little bit about all of our players before you see them on the ice
Our first newcomer is Eli Kendall. Eli makes his way to Decatur via Parker, CO where he played for the
Colorado RoughRiders. Coach Winkler is really excited about Eli’s ability and character, and expects him
to make an immediate impact both on and off the ice, “I was fortunate to meet and coach Eli at the CCM
Showcase, his character and work ethic are exactly what we need. He is a player that we are excited to
have, he brings a combination of high skill level and grit. He can score and will block shots and play a 200
Eli answered a few questions about his goals and what he enjoys off the ice:
Hometown: Parker, CO
Favorite NHL Team: Edmonton Oilers
Favorite Food: Corn-dogs and ketchup
Goal for season: Put up 30 points
Long Term Goal: Finish my hockey career happy
Intrigues about Decatur, Alabama: Weather, and the opportunity to further my hockey career.
Fletcher Chun returns to the Ducks for his second season. A graduate of the Ducks 18U program, Chun
logged 44 games during his rookie year posting 2 goals and 4 assists. The Hernando, MS native played in
all situations and was relied on heavily as a defensive center, a role in which the Coach Winkler felt he
excelled, “Chunner did a great job adjusting to the pace of the junior game, and really expanded his skill
set to the point where we were comfortable having him on the ice at any time of the game regardless of
the situation. We’re really excited to all of his hard work pay off next season and expect his role to grow
even more.” Chun’s work ethic not only paid off on the ice but also in the classroom as he took home
the Academic Achievement award for the NA3HL’s South Division.
