Point Mallard rips Yellowstone, 3-0


Point Mallard had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 3-0 win over Yellowstone.


Point Mallard was led by Justin Clark, who had one goal. Clark scored 16:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard. Matt Darnell picked up the assist.

Point Mallard's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Yellowstone power plays. Point Mallard forced Yellowstone goalie Lance Knudson to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Josh Hamilton also scored for Point Mallard. Other players who recorded assists for Point Mallard were Jake Cox, Stephen Coulter, and Grant Dukus, who contributed one each.

Yellowstone stifled Point Mallard's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Point Mallard's Cooper Seedott stopped 20 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Point Mallard incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Knudson recorded 31 saves for Yellowstone. Yellowstone incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
