Cooper Seedott was superb between the pipes for Point Mallard, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over Atlanta.
Point Mallard was sparked by Justin Dunn, who registered one goal. Dunn scored on the power play 8:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard. A charging penalty on Riley Hummitsch had put Point Mallard on the power play. Grant Dukus picked up the assist.
Point Mallard stifled Atlanta\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Point Mallard was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. Point Mallard gives up 2.7 goals on average per game. Atlanta was unable to stop Point Mallard from sending pucks towards the net, and Point Mallard eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.
Point Mallard also had goals scored by Stephen Coulter and Cameron Hamblett, who each put in one. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Jake Cox, Justin Delisle, and Justin Clark, who each chipped in one.
Atlanta was held below its usual level of production. Atlanta puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game.
