Trombly's big night helped the Ducks crush the Jr. Thunderbolts 7-1

Tyler Trombly had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the Point Mallard Ducks crushed the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 7-1 in a home game at Point Mallard Ice Complex in Point Mallard. Moreover, the Point Mallard Ducks' offense had a big night, peppering Evansville with 61 shots throughout the game. The Point Mallard Ducks took the lead late in the first on a goal from Declan O'neal and never looked back.

Jason Kelly delivered for his team with 2 goals and Jarett Green chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Kelly opened the scoring for the Ducks with a goal at 11:00 with a helper from his linemate Chun. O’neal netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 16:12 with an assist from Trombly.

In the second period, Trombly put in a goal at 2:51 with helpers from Stepp and Green. Laplante scored a goal at 10:06 with an assist from Trombly. Kelly netted a goal at 12:45 with a helper from his teammate Halpert.

In the third, Green deposited a goal at 0:26 with assists from Trombly and Laplante. Mcelroy finally put Evansville on the board with a goal at 5:07 with helpers from Rowe and Fennell. Udris answered for Point Mallard with a goal at 13:05 with assists from Chun and Wilks.

The Ducks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Bernardini’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced. Bernardini’s counterpart, Gill, also had a big night, managing to stop 29 of 34, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Point Mallard Ducks’ record to (18-17-0-1).
